Distributed range & status
This is an endemic species to Sri Lanka. The specimen found by Taylor in Trincomalee is in the Field Museum of Natural History of America.

There are 20 mid body scale rows present. There are 295 scales on the body longitudinally.
Characteristics
The body is very small, elongated, thin & shiny. The snout is rounded & laterally wedge shaped. It lacks a distinct neck. The tail is short & blunt with a terminal spine scale at the end. The eyes are very clear. The mouth spreads towards the eye.
Colour
Dorsal body is lavender gray. Ventral body consists of dark coloured spots.

These snakes are non venomous.
