Distributed range & status
This is an endemic species to Sri Lanka. The specimen found by Taylor in Trincomalee is in the Field Museum of Natural History of America.

There are 20 mid body scale rows present. There are 245 scales on the body longitudinally. Supra oculars are the largest scales of the head.
Characteristics
The body is very small, elongated, thin & shiny. The snout is rounded & laterally wedge shaped. It lacks a distinct neck. Oval shaped, broad & small head is present same as the size of the body. The eyes are not very clear. The nostrils are at the lateral positions. The tail lacks a terminal spine.
Colour
Dorsal & ventral body is violet mixed lavender. The mouth area is light coloured.

These snakes are non venomous.
