Endemic snake species found in Sri Lanka. It is believed that its specimen was found from Galle.

The mid body has 19 scale rows, which are not overlapped and are hexagonal in shape. Pre end of the body is smooth and the post end of the body has 3-4 blunt keels.
Characteristics
The body is very short, & flattened or half cylindrical. It lacks a distinct neck. Small, pointed, dorsoventrally flattened head is present. The eye is covered with a membrane. Snout projected towards the front. The tail joins ventrally as a ridge and there are two spines on each side of the ridge. The ridge bears three blunt keels and few of blunt projections. The tail shield is circular, it bears 3 blunt keels and blunt and a few blunt bulges.
Colour
Pre body is bluish green and the post body is brown in colour. Head is yellowish green. Along the body there are 6 light blue dots which are eye sized. They make 33 lines. Pre body these line are seen joint together. There are two yellow lines which begin from the head and run along the body. There are 22 black oblique lines on this particular yellow line.
Venom
These snakes are not venomous. Do not attempt to attack.
