We are now offering you a chance to help in this national duty of protecting reptiles, so you can also be a part of our conservation project & help to save many reptiles of Sri Lanka. We give you the opportunity for you to become a member giving special support to help save reptiles by helping us in our nature conservational work. This includes field trips which gives a chance to obtain knowledge, keep in touch with nature & at the same time to have fun & adventure. Our main objectives of these trips are to find information that may help build up our site & collect data for our conservation program directly handled by our group members.

| Removal of wastes |
Each year many pilgrims come from north to south through the east border on foot to worship in the season of Katharagama passing many national reservoirs and forest areas. Among these people there are people who do not care about nature and some lacking knowledge about protecting it at all. Most of them bring in polethene, plastics and many other things which are not biodegradable and eco friendly. Carelessly they leave them behind after camping. Our team members together with another nature loving society contributed to remove the solid waste disposed by the visitors in Yala (Ruhunu) National Park, in 2006. We managed to collect approximately 2 tonnes of such waste along the east border. |

| Educational programme for police officers |
Inginiyagala is a rural area which records snake bites annually. This is mainly due to lack of knowledge of the people. They tend to kill snakes enormously due to chena cultivation purposes. As an initiating step to spread knowledge among people, we attended to an educational programme on wild life for the police officers in Inginiyagala area. |
|
| Workshop for wild life officers |
A lecture was held in Nilgala for the officers of wild life department about reptiles specifically on snakes and visited the field to demonstrate techniques of observing animals. |
|
| Field visits |
Every holiday our team members visit to all kinds of forests and geographically valued places. Team members get a chance to obtain vast amount of knowledge on each of the places that are visited. |
|
| Panama visit |
During the time of terrorist’s threats, our team members visited Panama and Pothuwil to do a study on sand vipers. This area is known for killing of turtles and Dugong (sea cows). We were able to give knowledge to the fisherman on the importance of these animals and joined the fisherman in camping. |
